| Nerd Trivia: Their have been 5 green lanterns from earth. Alan Scott, Hal Jordan, Guy Gardner, John Stewart, and Kyle Rayner. Theirs more lantern cores then just green. One core for each color of the emotional light spectrum. Red (rage), Orange (Greed), Yellow (fear), Green (willpower), Blue (hope), Indigo (compassion), Violet (love), Black (death), White(life). Each lantern core is powered by a emotional entity that are pure embodiments of the emotions comprising the emotional spectrum. These Entities are trapped inside of crystals and are housed inside of the lanterns. Red (The Butcher:bull), Orange (Ophidian:snake), Yellow (Parallax:insect), Green (Ion:whale/fish), Blue (Adara: Bird), Indigo (Proselyte: cephalopod), Violet (The Predator:Ummm... Wierd Dinosaur looking thingy). Black an white are technically not apart of the spectrum as black is the absence of emotion, and white is all emotions combined. Black (Nekron: Black Hand, A guy who killed himself then then started killing other lanterns, turning them into black lanterns/zombies. Nekron is the ruler of hell and the embodiment of death, and uses black hand as a tether to the DC universe), White(The Entity: Life itself). Not all lantern cores are the same as the green lantern core where their are many members in a military type fashion. Example: theirs only 1 orange lantern (he's to greedy). To become a blue lantern you must already posses a green lantern ring. Indigo is a alien "Native" tribe. Red are a few monstrous aliens. Violet are people who have been betrayed by their lovers. Green were created by the guardians (those little blue dudes) and are meant to keep peace throughout the galaxy. Yellow is created by Sinestro a former green lantern who thinks he can have peace through force. Black, Black hand just kills people >_>. White, The Entity merges with sinestro but then is removed by Nekron (embodiment of death), then Hal jordan merges with the Entity. Then brings all the dead hero's who are black lanterns back to life turning them into white lanterns O_O. I like blue the best because they don't need to recharge their rings. Their rings run on hope, possibly unlimited power as long as the user has hope. |
